More than just a job: A child sponsorship comes with your contract

Our child sponsorships

In late 2011, Sutter’s CEO Bert Sutter faced a familiar December dilemma: Even as an adult, parents still ask what you'd like for Christmas.
His wish that year was a bit unusual – a shareholder resolution that would fund a child sponsorship for every current and future Sutter employee.
Since then, signing your employment contract with us means choosing to support a child through a trusted aid organization – either SOS Children’s Villages or World Vision.

The employee holds the personal connection with the sponsored child – and Sutter covers the costs.

SOS Children’s Villages as
Partner Organization for Child Sponsorships

Since 1949, SOS Children’s Villages has been dedicated to supporting children in need – offering them a safe home, stability, and new perspectives for the future. The international non-profit organization provides care for children who cannot grow up with their families and works to strengthen vulnerable households around the world. Through more than 800 programs worldwide – including family-like living arrangements, early childhood development, vocational training, and youth housing – SOS Children’s Villages is committed to improving living conditions and creating lasting opportunities. People with mental or emotional disabilities also find a supportive environment in dedicated community villages. In Germany alone, around 4,600 staff members support approximately 83,500 people each year across 38 locations. Globally, the organization runs 91 aid projects in 22 focus countries and offers child sponsorships in over 110 countries.

More than a sponsorship: We support community, fairness, and team spirit

Our future is on the field

At Sutter, responsibility doesn’t stop in the OR – it starts right here in our local community. Since 2023, we’ve proudly supported the youth development program of FC Emmendingen 03 football club.

Our partnership includes jersey sponsorship for the A-Youth team and a visible presence at the pitch – but it’s about more than logos and banners.

We believe that investing in young people means shaping the future.

That’s why our support goes beyond athletic performance: we promote team spirit, fairness, and solidarity – values that matter just as much on the field as they do in our everyday work.

More than Hightech: Shaping the Future with Purpose

Code. Cobots. Commitment.

At Sutter, innovation and responsibility go hand in hand. That’s why we’re proud to be a founding partner of the Robotics Foundation, established by the Work-Life Robotics Institute at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany. This forward-looking initiative promotes hands-on research in robotics and cobotics with real-world impact – especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.

In close collaboration, we’re working to drive meaningful and sustainable use of robotics – including in the field of medical technology. Whether in manufacturing or future healthcare applications: Human-centered automation is a key driver of progress.

The foundation aims to actively shape education and research in the fields of cobotics, robotics, and socio-technological systems – in close partnership with academia and industry. Within a short time, this has evolved into a dynamic ecosystem for knowledge transfer and applied innovation.

More than rules: Our actions are guided by values

Our Code of Conduct defines clear guidelines for fair, lawful, and ethical behavior. It is binding for all employees and partners, creating a shared foundation of trust and integrity in everything we do.

Whether in teamwork, customer relations, or in a global context – our actions are based on clear values. Because responsibility starts small – and makes a big impact.
